When Jim Bolinger bought his first limousine, it was 1978, and the vehicle was merely a hobby. He tinkered with the 1965 Cadillac factory formal for a number of years, little knowing that his love for the vehicle would be the seed to his success.
Jim Bolinger found that he wanted to make limousines his life, and it is this devotion to the industry over the long haul that has made
Westwind Limousine thrive today.
In the early 1980s, Jim Bolinger was working for a Chevrolet dealership as general manager, then went to work for the Hertz Corporation in the car sales division at the same time he started in the limousine business. Eventually, his limousine business grew to the point where he abandoned working for Hertz as car sales manager, but the formal knowledge he gained during that time, concerning new and used vehicle sales, contributed greatly to what would become his future limousine sales.
Jim Bolinger's decision to enter the limousine sales market stemmed from the fact that "there weren't a whole lot of legitimate limousine dealers out there. So I decided that with my background as a general manager for Chevrolet and the Hertz Corporation, I should open a business that provided limousine sales. I bought out fleets, bought from lease companies and moved into a retail operation in 1987."
Greg Walker, who has been in the industry for twelve years, has been buying from
Jim Bolinger's company, Westwind Limousine Sales, for the past eight years. Walker has purchased over thirty vehicles from
Westwind..."The biggest reason I keep going back is that Jim is there for you if you need him," says Walker, owner of Classic Limousines (Columbus, OH). "The few times that I have had problems, he took care of them promptly. |
Also, the service is great and they return their calls... they're good people to deal with. They want you to keep coming back, so they treat you the right way."
For several years, Westwind had been a new Royale Limousine Manufacturers (Haverhill, MA) dealership.
However, In 1994, Westwind Limousine moved to a new facility in Brookville, OH ("because business had grown so dramatically"), opening a twelve-car indoor show- room.
The company has sold vehicles to people and companies in over a dozen countries around the world, developing a strong reputation in the industry. Recently, Bolinger
moved Westwind Limousine to State Route 40, across from the Dayton International
Airport, and has built a new dealership and rental operation.
Jim Bolinger, who sees the importance of safety in the industry, reconditions vehicles internally and mechanically before selling
them.
Donna Brady, vice president of Titus Leasing (Camp Hill, PA). "We like to do business with them because they are honest, loyal and trustworthy. They stand behind what they sell, even though the majority of what they sell is used, and they offer service over the long-term. When some- thing goes wrong with a car, the first thing that happens is the person leasing doesn't want to make his/ her payments. But you don't have to worry about that when you are dealing with a car from Westwind
Limousine because Jim Bolinger takes care of the problem right away."
